Lakshmi Kannan is a bilingual writer who writes in English and in Tamil, using the pen-name Kaaveri for Tamil. She is a novelist, short story writer, poet and translator. She has published sixteen books till date. She was a British Council Visitor to the University of Cambridge, for the Cambridge Seminar; a Writer-in-Residence at the University of Kent at Canterbury, on a Charles Wallace Trust Fellowship; participant in the International Writing Program, Iowa, USA; has and participated in various international conferences in Canada, the Netherlands, U.S.A. and U.K. She lives in Delhi.
